14.Why do you think the author wrote this story? Where did he or she get the idea or the characters? What message do you think that the author is trying to share?
I think the author wrote this story because he/she wanted us to see how hard other teens lives are. The author might have gotten his ideas for the half-men from all of the animals that are very deadly in a different sort of way. The author probably got Nailer from another book or from a movie. The message that I think the author is trying to say is if YOU want something then chase after it.

PART 4
11. What do you wish to learn when you read again tomorrow: What do you hope will happen in the story or to the characters? Why do you wish for this to happen?
When I read again tomorrow I would like to know if Tool survived the fight or if he died. I hope that Nailer and Nita run into Tool because Tool is a very good and helpful guy. I wish for this to happen because without Tool Nailer and Nita are powerless.

PART 3
10. As you read today, what surprised you? Explain how this will affect the story or how it changed your thinking about the story.
The thing that really surprised me is the part when Pima said she was not going with Nailer & Pima to New Orleans. This event changed the story because now that Pima is not with them Nailer does not have anyone that he can really trust. It also changes the way I think about the story because all 3 of them had the crew mark. Pima broke it & now I'm starting to think that the mark means nothing at all.

9.If you could ask any character a question, what would you ask? If you could ask the author a question what might that be? Explain why you chose these questions.
If I could ask any character a question I would ask Nailer a question. The question I would ask Nailer is do you like Nita (the rich girl). The question I would ask the author is why did you make Nita so pretty? I chose these questions because I was wondering if Nailer falls in love with Nita. If Nailer does then I was wondering if Nita tries to convince Nailer that they should leave Pima behind and leave without her.

PREDICTION
Prediction
I think the book Ship Breaker will be about a ship that crashes, breaks and or sinks. I think that's what will happen because the title says "Ship Breaker" and that must mean a ship breaks. I also think it will be about a boy who wanders around inside of the ship and finds valuable objects. Finally, I think that the boy on the cover somehow caused the ship problems from his curiosity.

9. If you could ask any character a question, what would you ask? If you could ask the author a question, what might that be? Explain why you chose these questions.
I would ask Atticus why he tried to defend the nigger (not to be racist) Tom Robinson. I would ask him that question because in the book Atticus said that "a case like Tom's could ruin his personal life". If Atticus knew that it would affect his personal life why did he try to carry out the case? I know that hes a lawyer and all but that one case can ruin him (Atticus) for the rest of his life. But, even though Atticus knew what he would suffer he tried his best to help Tom Robinson in his case.
If I had a chance to ask the author a question I would probably ask him "Why did you write this book?". I would ask him that simple question because authors write books for different reasons. If many authors wrote books for different reasons I would like to know if this happened to him (Harper Lee) in his own life. But, if Harper did not want to tell me i would try to just get a little info on the purpose of writing this book. If Harper still refused to tell me I would act as if I didn't really care for the book in the first place. Then if he see's this he might tell me the true reason he wrote this book.
